Alcoa
Foundation Provides $30,000 for First Responder Training to City
of Louisville

On Sunday, October 12, Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson was presented
with a $30,000 check by Alcoa's Flexible Packaging Louisville Laminating
Plant Manager Carol
Rod. The $30,000 grant is part of the Alcoa First Responder Training Initiative,
which began this summer and was granted to the Louisville Fire Department. A
larger grant was presented because three of the four Alcoa facilities in Louisville
teamed together. Alcoa's Louisville Foil Plant has approximately 450 employees,
and was able to submit $15,000. Alcoa's Louisville Laminating and SGS were able to request another $7,500 each, totaling $30,000 to
provide First Responder Training to the citizens of Louisville Kentucky !
The check was presented at the Louisville Fire Department's 20th
Annual “Great
Louisville Fire Drill.' There were various activities at the event, such
as games and fire truck rides for the children, all the free chili and hot dogs
you could eat, education about fire prevention, a live band, and a drawing where
four lucky children won bicycles! Every one had a great time as they
learned more about fire prevention, and the Alcoa employees were honored to
provide such
a great group with such a generous donation! |
